Travel is a must have when ever we head out to discover the world. I can be honest and tell you that I didn’t always have insurance, in fact I probably didn’t have it for the first 5 years of my travel – just writing that scares me because I now know I was stupid not having any.
I’m sure there are plenty of you reading this who used to be just like me and think that you won’t need travel insurance. Well, having that mindset will come back to bite many of you and I urge you to head out now and try to find the best digital nomad insurance you can find, I promise that it will be well worth it.
It’s Affordable
I think you would be very surprised to find out just how affordable digital nomad travel insurance can be! I used to think that it would cost a fortune and eat into my travel budget, basically I thought it was optional and never looked into it that much. So imagine my surprise when I found out that I could be covered for as little as $9 a week – yes, $9 a week! I think if we can afford a flight we can afford paying $9 a week to make sure we’re taken care of incase an accident happens.
Peace Of Mind
When we travel the last thing we want to think about are accidents or bad things happening, but the fact is that they do happen. You will have peace of mind and so will your loved ones if you have some decent travel insurance. It will cover your health, cancelled flights, lost luggage and much more. It gives you one less headache to worry about.
Can You Afford Not To?
When I talk about can you afford not to it relates to 2 big things; healthcare and your belongings. If you have an unfortunate accident the costs can go up to hundreds of thousands of dollars, I don’t think many of us can afford that. That would leave the burden on our loved ones at home – imagine if your parents have to remortgage their house to pay? That’s unthinkable. Then think about all the tech you travel with; iPhone, camera, laptop, iPad etc They cost thousands of dollars, if you lose your bag or it’s stolen then replacing it all will cost a small fortune. Insurance gets rid of these huge costs.
I would love to hear from you guys. What insurance do you have? Do you have a story when travel insurance saved you? Why would you recommend that others get some right away? All you have to do is pop your thoughts down in the comment section below. I think it’s great when we, as a travel community, can share our first hand experiences to help out others. I’m looking forward to all your comments guys – thanks for sharing!
