If you’re planning a trip to London soon then you’d be wise not to miss the borough of Hounslow. It’s a fantastic place with so much to see and do, I love going back there when I’m home in the UK. Here are 3 things that you must see when in the area.

The London Apprentice, Isleworth

Of course you want a bit of culture when you visit but you also need to check out some authentic London pubs too! There are a few pubs along the riverside which are good to visit but my favourite is The London Apprentice, it has the best riverside view of all the pubs in the area. It got it’s name because it used to be the place where apprentices from the city would go on their off to enjoy a boozy session – thankfully it is a lot more relaxed and quaint these days. If a couple of drinks here doesn’t quite quench your thirst then you can use it as the starting point for a little pub crawl, others along the way include The Bell & Crown and also the Bull’s Head.

Kew Bridge Steam Museum

I’m the first to admit that museums aren’t always my favourite thing to visit but this museum is a must see. It is the best museum that exhibits the industrial heritage of the UK. It’s located in a beautiful Victorian pumping station and has two main engine themes; water and steam. Anyone who visits will be enthralled by the history and also the steam engines on display – go there on a Sunday to see the volunteers fire up one of the steam engines.

Hounslow Urban Farm

I hadn’t been to the farm until last year, I followed the advice of one of the Feltham escorts and we paid a visit. I am very happy I listened to the local knowledge because it’s a fabulous place. It’s spread over a huge 29 acres and there’s plenty to see there; pigs, alpacas, chipmunks and much more. One of the best things they do is preserve rare-breeds, so here you’ll get to see many animals you won’t find anywhere else in the country.
