Evangeline Lilly alias Kate on Lost (TF1 my french channel) spent the end of the year with Dominic Monaghan, her boyfriend since 5 years. Both have chosen to go in Switzerland to finally have “a white christmas” told E. During lost break, the actress will do anyways the promotion of her first movie in theatre “Afterwards” (on cinema in france, January 17th) where she plays with Romain Duris.
January21th, american viewers will discover lost season 5. Kate became very different: she have been “saved” from the island and she became mother, told us Evangeline. “For this 5th season, I want to say to viewers to be very patient because the first part of the season5 is complicated. It’s again a puzzle where you’ll learn about characters by small parts to small parts. In the second part of the season 5, your patience will be rewarded. Take in note that the January 7th, TF6 (another french channel but private) will air the complete 4 seasons of lost every wednesdays at 8:45pm.

1. Lost (Jan. 21): Lost returns in less than three weeks, and the world will be a better place for it. Season five means it’s time to go back to the Island, but there’s more than a little gridlock on the road back: The nature of time and space itself is an obstacle (the Island is missing!), not to mention Charles Widmore’s diabolical schemes and the internal strife between the Oceanic Six members. The good news is that for the first hour of the premiere, Sawyer is shirtless. Yesterday. 9:30 a.m. I was moments away from spending the day at Disneyland, the happiest place on Earth, when a certain EW colleague, whose name rhymes with Shmichael Slausiello, tipped me off that the first two episodes of Lost’s fifth season were now available to lucky media dorks like me for reviewing. Suddenly, the House of Mouse (and really, any other locale that wasn’t my laptop DVD player) was not the happiest place on Earth, but the most hellishly inconvenient. ARRRRGHHH! A long day of standing in life-stealing, long-ass lines became even more criminal and assish as I counted the minutes before I could rip into the most awesome of delayed Christmas presents. (Although I must say, The Pirates of the Carrbbean — a masterpiece of experiential narrative on any other day — was almost compelling enough to distract me from my furious angst. ALMOST.)
Finally, at 10 p.m. last night, with exhausted family passed out, I sat down and broke the seven-month Lost fast with the first two helpings of season 5. Both went down well, one more so than the other. A few thoughts in advance of a more thorough discussion to come, once the episodes air and we’re all on the same page.

Sure, sure, the Lost mythology is a miracle to behold. It’s grandiose, compelling, gaspworthy and, despite what the haters would have you believe, altogether satisfying, but come on: There’s a lot more to Lost than Dharma, the numbers and the four-toed statue: There’s love. Yes, love.
I’ve seen the first two hours of Lost season five, so let’s cut right to the romantic chase and answer the big questions: Which couples are still hot? Which ones are not?
