LOST
”When will they feel safe?” That’s all exec producer Carlton Cuse will say about Juliet (Elizabeth Mitchell) and Sawyer (Josh Holloway) being threatened by soldiers during Lost’s two-hour premiere on Jan. 21. Time-travel theorists, note his emphasis. And Sawyer swooners, be advised that the hunky rogue remains shirtless for one full hour. Says exec producer Damon Lindelof, ”Even I am powerless.” We hear Juliet may soon feel similarly…

“Lost” (8 p.m. recap, 9 p.m. season debut Jan. 21, WXYZ-TV, Channel 7, ABC). How would executive producers Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof describe the opening scenes of the season premiere of “Lost”?
Compelling, says Cuse.
Groovy, says Lindelof.
Sounds intriguing, but then again, that’s what makes “Lost” special. “What we don’t want to do in season five is basically stand around sort of shifting from one foot to another waiting for the last season of the show,” says Cuse of the acclaimed ABC series that’s set to wrap in 2010. “Like it or not, we decided to take some chances this year and be bold in our storytelling and we’re willing to accept the consequences of that.”

In the new season of “Lost” premiering Jan. 21, expect a lawyer to show up at the home of Kate Austen and demand a sample of blood. Someone—he can’t say who—wants to know if Kate is actually related to her son Aaron.
If you want to know more, you’ll have to tune in, but those details were shared during Disney Media Networks Co-Chair and Disney-ABC Television Group President Anne Sweeney’s speech at the Consumers Electronics Show in Las Vegas today. She showed a three-minute sneak peek of the new season of the popular show.
She also highlighted ABC’s plans to develop a widget powered by Intel for the final season of “Lost” next year to bring the show to additional devices.
As the first network to strike a deal with iTunes more than three years ago, Ms. Sweeney said ABC will continue to seek out alternative distribution venues for its shows, but will do so with a focus on the user interface.
“We need to build great user interfaces,” she said. “One of the reasons so many of us have iPhones and iPods is Apple gets this fundamental fact—the user interface is intuitive, it’s user-friendly and it’s easy to personalize your experience with it.”
She added, “Our challenge is figuring out the best ways to use these new platforms to stay relevant to the increasingly demanding and mobile lives of our viewers. Especially in this economy, consumers are turning to brands, services and devices that make their lives easier and allow them to do things they couldn’t do before.”

Evangeline Lilly alias Kate on Lost (TF1 my french channel) spent the end of the year with Dominic Monaghan, her boyfriend since 5 years. Both have chosen to go in Switzerland to finally have “a white christmas” told E. During lost break, the actress will do anyways the promotion of her first movie in theatre “Afterwards” (on cinema in france, January 17th) where she plays with Romain Duris.
January21th, american viewers will discover lost season 5. Kate became very different: she have been “saved” from the island and she became mother, told us Evangeline. “For this 5th season, I want to say to viewers to be very patient because the first part of the season5 is complicated. It’s again a puzzle where you’ll learn about characters by small parts to small parts. In the second part of the season 5, your patience will be rewarded. Take in note that the January 7th, TF6 (another french channel but private) will air the complete 4 seasons of lost every wednesdays at 8:45pm.

From Kristin at E! Online:
Sure, sure, the Lost mythology is a miracle to behold. It’s grandiose, compelling, gaspworthy and, despite what the haters would have you believe, altogether satisfying, but come on: There’s a lot more to Lost than Dharma, the numbers and the four-toed statue: There’s love. Yes, love.
I’ve seen the first two hours of Lost season five, so let’s cut right to the romantic chase and answer the big questions: Which couples are still hot? Which ones are not?
Find out who’s doing what with whom in the season-five premiere of Lost…
