Evangeline lilly interview about the upcoming sawyer and kate reunion

Lost fans were in an uproar when reports alleged that Evangeline Lilly was leaving the show and auditioning for pilots that could launch this fall.
Her reps were quick to put out that fire, saying the story was absolutely false.
So TVGuide.ca decided to ask the actress herself, and hopefully, fans will be pleased by the answer.
“Why on Earth would I want to leave the best female role on television, in my humble opinion?” says Lilly with a laugh. “I’m happy at the show. The rumour started because the world was bored and they need a little drama, so they make things up, and that’s it; it’s very simple.”
Phew, right? The preview for the next episode of Lost has alluded to the long-awaited reunion of Kate and Sawyer (Josh Holloway), and Lilly dished on how she hoped it would go down, and what did indeed happen.
“For Evangeline, it was great fun because it’s been a long time since I worked with Josh, and it was great to have that reunion,” she reveals. “I was also nervous that they would write something that would undermine Kate’s character.
“The notion that she might come back to the island and start things up with Sawyer again after three years of being involved with Jack, I was very nervous that that would happen and warrant having to justify that. Because I’m the one who has to make that believable, and if you don’t believe it, then it’s hard to make other people believe it. But they didn’t do that.”
Lilly adds, “It’s a very intense thing for both of them; I don’t think Kate realized he was even alive still. The last time she saw him, he had jumped out of a helicopter, was swimming in an ocean, to an island that, minutes later, disappeared.
“So for all intents and purposes, Kate thinks he’s dead. She really is holding out a little measure of hope that he’s alive, but the skeptic and the realist within her is saying he’s dead. So to see him again, more than being intense and romantic, it’s just intense and shocking.”

Your statement is absolutely false.
Proof: I’m a 25 year old man, and although I really like Sawyer for his love for Kate and they have a sweet relationship I just don’t see it ending well. It may end with them together and that would be fine. I’d rather she ends up with Jack. Absolutely false. Jesus you’re incredibly close minded. Grow up now, learn to respect others opinions, and accept that they HAVE those opinions. Stop being so selfish with what you want to happen.

Well I for one am ABSOLUTELY 100% POSITIVE that Damon and Carlton read all of the websites and are currently polling as to how many people are “SKATE” fans and how many are “JATE” fans. The “team” with the highest number will be the couple that lasts. Come on people! Who cares what you want? The creators and writers are going to do what they want, and what fits best with the story they want to tell. It has nothing to do with what any one fan wants!
I also suggest a Sawyer and Jack mud fight…just for kicks maybe…

i was so excited to read this, then i read that nothing starts up again with sawyer and kate? wtf? whyyyyyy? clearly they’re the hottest couple on the island and an eliment to the dimension of the show
I’m really pissed about juliette and sawyer, and sawyer suddenly being all calm and goody , thats not him!!!! I liked the bad why with atitude and calling names to averyone!

Jate forever! Kate and Sawyer had a fling based on physical attraction only. Jack and Kate have a deeper connection -physically and emotionally. Sawyer and Juliet belong together!

That’s quite a statement you’ve made there! You can bet there are a hell of alot more people than just “sad, sheltered women” who know that Kate will end up with Jack, and not just because they want her to. It’s the way the story is going! Sawyer and Kate had “thing” for a couple weeks – period! They’ve both moved on and Sawyer is in a great place with a woman he loves, and who LOVES HIM BACK. And that’s something he’s never had before! And no, tptb do not troll the internet message boards trying to decide which way to take their show. They are alot smarter than that, and have had this mapped out from the beginning. I realize they make adjustments, but NOT based on the Jater/Skater polls that are so rampant. And the amazing “reunion” you all got so jazzed about – ummmm, Jack looked a hell of a lot happier to see Sawyer than Kate did. She barely managed a smirk! She doesn’t want to be there and she did not go back for Sawyer. Evi said it herself – “The notion that she might come back to the island and start things up with Sawyer again after three years of being involved with Jack…….they did not do that.” Read the article. Their reuinion will be intense and shocking, not romantic. And Kate’s not going “there” again. I still love the “sheltered women” comment! Really shows your true colors.
i’m so over kate. i don’t like her at all anymore. she’s like a drama-filled highschool girl who can’t choose who to take to the prom.
jack has the same issues. they both have so much baggage.

sawyer has come so far, and i think that him and juliet compliment each other really well. if kate does anything to mess up what they have going, i’m going to cry.
I think Kate should end up with James as they are PERFECT for each other!

I used to be a Skate fan but after season three I changed my mind. Jack and Kate are perfect for each other. Having said this, I don’t want Sawyer and Juliet to be together. Sawyer doesn’t deserve her and she doesn’t deserve him. But Jack and Kate are definetaly better for each other.

My favorite interview with Evi was when the man asked Evi who she thought Kate would end up with and she got a big smile on her face and said “JACK.” Yep, us poor sheltered women agree with Evi!
It has been all about Jack and Kate since the very beginning of the show. I love Sawyer the character, but I have NEVER thought he and Kate should end up together. They have a connection sure, but Kate and Jack’s connection is deeper and on many levels. Once they get through the issues that were brought about by all the craziness of being drawn back to the island etc. I believe they will come back together and be the Jack and Kate team we all know and love. The are absolutely perfect together!
im a SKATER all the way!!! though i dont mind jack and wouldnt care if she ended up with him, itz just he it dull and flat!!!! Btw i agree that i liked sawyer better with a bad attitude and calling ppl names, it was amusing!!, with juliet he was just so, weird and settled!!! i hated it!! lets just hope kate ends up with sawyer!!<they both deserve some happiness.!

I wasnt a fan of Kate with Swayer at first but those two over the years won me over. I till this day believe they were eachothers soulmates on the Island one couldnt live without the other the cage deal sealed it.Also I also feel if Swayer came back instead of jumping out of the choper to save everyone else him and Kate would of stayed together there would of been no Jack nor Juliet and that point gets LOST!!!!!
I just get amazed when people say Sawyer and Kate were not inlove. I do believe Jack kept that from Kate, for his own selfish reasons he heard it from Sawyer himself!
As Evi being asked who she should end up with she declared the show and writing the way it was Jack would be the choice but she felt that 99% of the women in the world would pick Sawyer. Seems she would be in that 99% I think!In another interview she was asked really who Jack or Sawyer she answered Sawyer,Jack, Sawyer!!! was her final choice considering how it ended Sawyer on the Island then Jack off the Island then Sawyer and Kate got off the Island together she might of hinted yes we wouldnt stay apart if given a chance in the real world. Interesting also in a interview Josh and Evi stated Sawyer should get Kates number for when they landed they could go out on a date!
